Yes, we welcome children with disabilities! Enrollment is based on whether our daycare program can appropriately support your child’s individual needs. Our team is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment, and we will assess if we can meet your child’s specific requirements. To ensure the safety and well-being of all children and staff, it is important that your child is at a developmental stage where they are not a hazard to themselves or others. At Delgado Family Child Care, we will make every effort to provide the best care and support we can, always aiming for each child’s success in our daycare setting.

POLICIES
Dress Code Policy
Please dress your child in comfortable play clothes, socks, and tennis shoes or boots. Sandals and dress shoes are not safe for active play. Be mindful that your child may engage in messy activities like painting and water play, so please pack at least one change of clothes. Infants should have several changes due to food or diaper accidents. For potty training children, provide a minimum of three changes of clothes.
Personal Items
Each child will have a designated space for their belongings. Please send your child with a lunch, snack (if preferred), water bottle, diapers/pull-ups and wipes (if needed), and a change of clothes. Be sure to label all items, including clothing, water bottles, backpacks, and lunchboxes.
Meal Times: Meal Policy
We provide breakfast, snack, lunch, and dinner based on care hours. Children may bring their own snack if preferred or if they have food allergies. Parents must supply formula for infants. We prioritize health and ensure all children wash hands before meal times.

Diapering and Toilet Training Policy
At Delgado Family Child Care, we are committed to supporting your child's development and helping with diapering and toilet training as part of our care. Please review our policy on diapering and toilet training below to ensure smooth communication and collaboration:

Diapering
-
For infants and toddlers, parents must provide diapers and wipes. We will make sure your child is changed regularly throughout the day for their comfort and hygiene.
-

Toilet Training
-
Potty training must be initiated at home by parents. At Delgado Family Child Care, we are happy to assist, but we are not responsible for ensuring potty training is fully completed. This is a collaborative process that requires consistency between home and daycare.
-
Parents must provide pull-ups during the early stages of potty training. Once your child is more comfortable and consistent with using the toilet, we will transition to undergarments. Our staff will support and encourage the child during this process.
-
Clothing: During the potty training phase, please provide a minimum of three changes of clothes (including socks and underwear) in case of accidents. Easy-to-pull-up and down clothing (e.g., elastic waistband pants or shorts) is essential for encouraging independence and ease when using the toilet.
-

We understand that potty training can be a challenging but exciting milestone, and we are here to work with you to help your child succeed. If you have any questions or specific instructions regarding diapering or toilet training, please feel free to reach out.
Thank you for your cooperation!

Daycare Provider Time-Off and Vacation Policy

As a dedicated childcare provider, I pour my heart and soul into caring for your children, ensuring their safety, growth, and development each and every day. This commitment involves long hours of hard work and attention to detail, not just during daycare hours but also on off days to ensure that everything runs smoothly. However, just as I am committed to the well-being of your child, I must also prioritize my own health and well-being in order to continue providing the highest quality care.

Time Off for Illness or Unforeseen Absence:
Like all of us, there may be times when I am unable to care for the children due to illness or other unforeseen emergency circumstances. I will do my very best to provide as much notice as possible if I am unable to provide care. Your understanding in these moments is deeply appreciated, and I will always strive to minimize any disruption to your family's schedule.

Vacation Time:
As stated in the contract, I am entitled to 10 business days off for vacation each year to recharge and ensure that I can continue to provide excellent care for the children. Please note that this vacation time does not run concurrently, meaning I will take time off in smaller chunks, and I will provide ample notice as soon as I am aware of the dates. My vacation time will generally not exceed one week at a time.

Parent Responsibility for Alternate Care:
In the event that I am unable to provide care due to illness or planned time off, it will be the responsibility of parents to arrange alternate care for their child(ren). I understand that finding alternate care can be challenging, and I truly appreciate your cooperation and understanding as I take the necessary time to rest and care for myself.
By taking care of my whole self, I ensure that I can continue to provide the loving, high-quality care that your children deserve. I appreciate your understanding and your continued trust in me as your daycare provider. Together, we can create a positive and nurturing environment for your child’s growth and development.
Thank you for your cooperation!
